Leigh Burger, LCSW (they/them)

About me: I am a queer and nonbinary therapist that is passionate about supporting the
LGBTQIA2S+ community. I enjoy working with adolescents 15+ and adults from various
backgrounds and identities. Healing happens in relationships, and the therapeutic
relationship is the foundation of a positive therapy experience. I aim to create a warm,
respectful, culturally responsive, and non-judgmental therapeutic space. I believe you
are the expert in your life, and that therapy is a collaborative process.

I work with you to create individualized therapy that helps you achieve your goals. I
draw upon a variety of treatment philosophies, modalities, and techniques, including
Collaborative Problem Solving, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Collaborative Assessment and
Management of Suicidality (CAMS), Harm Reduction, Health at Every Size, and
Solution Focused Therapy. I value and encourage humor, direct communication, and
feedback.

I have experience working with people struggling with issues related to depression,
anxiety, trauma, life transitions, sexuality, gender identity, queer issues, body image,
suicidal ideation, self-harm, and relationship and family challenges.

I strive to facilitate open and honest conversations around the way that power, privilege,
and oppression impact you, as well as their impact on our therapeutic relationship.
Therapy can sometimes feel overwhelming, and I aim to help you feel safe, supported,
and heard during our work together.
